O is for Octopus Letter Craft

This delightful little octopus helps children learn about the letter O and ocean creatures at the same time. Kids will love making this craft!

Show your love of the letter O and the ocean with this fun O is for octopus letter craft! It's a fun alphabet activity for kindergarten and preschool!

What you’ll need to make the O is for octopus alphabet craft:

  • letter O template
  • Glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Googly eyes
  • Construction paper
  • Marker

Print the template onto computer paper, then trace the design onto construction paper. I used green, but there aren’t any limits on what color an octopus can be. Red, blue, pink, brown, anything goes, really. You’ll also want to cut out eight strips of paper to become the octopus’s tentacles. Each child will also need two googly eyes.

Show the kids how to draw Os into the tentacles to make them look a little more lifelike.

Glue the tentacles to the bottom of the O and the eyes to the middle of the O on either side. Draw on a smile and your octopus craft is done! Let the kids take them home, or you could make an entire fleet of octopi in the classroom while studying the letter O. It’s a great visual for kids learning their letters!

Add even more learning to this activity when you get the Letter O activity mini pack!
