If you’re looking for a STEM summer camp curriculum, you got it right here! It’s the easiest way to learn how to do summer camp at home. But the activities can also be used for any child-centered business, like daycares and in-person summer camps!
If you love doing STEM activities, you’ll have a blast putting this camp together. And best of all, you have to do virtually *no* prep for this STEM summer camp.
Seriously, it’s so, so easy for the adults and tons of fun for kids.
My Favorite STEM Summer Camp Curriculum for Hands-on Fun
My kids love hands-on science experiments and STEM activities, but I am a busy working mom. I don’t have as much time during the summers to do hands-on projects as much with them as I would like.
But this year, I did something smart. While they were still in school, I created a Virtual STEM Camp for them so that this summer, they can join in a STEM camp that I made, but that I don’t have to be right there with them for when I’m working.
Because I knew I wouldn’t be able to sit there with the kids as they did their STEM summer camp curriculum activities, I designed the camp to virtually run itself.
How Does the STEM Camp Curriculum Work?
This camp runs for 10 weeks. That sounds like a lot, but there is just one activity per week.
Why is that?
I know that when I’ve signed my kids up for virtual camps before, things get overwhelming fast. Day one, we’re there and ready-to-go, but then maybe the next day the kids sleep in late and miss the first activity.
Then the next day we have to go to the dentist or run another errand.
Next thing you know, we’ve missed almost all of the camp. Bummer.
So, I built the STEM camp curriculum to guard against that from happening.
You will get your new activity plan on Monday, and then you can do the activity whenever it suits your schedule that week.
The next Monday, you get the next experiment, and so on!
This looser STEM camp structure works for my family, and I’m betting you’ll love it, too!
What Are Some of the Virtual STEM Camp Activities?
The virtual STEM camp covers activities in science, technology, engineering, and math. It’s like our STEAM summer camp, but a lot less stressful. The activities are also entirely new!
In this STEM summer camp curriculum kids will learn:
- How to make an orange volcano
- How to make a Mobius strip
- How to build a helicopter from paper
- How the physics of ramps work
- The basics of light refraction
- The science behind soap
- How capillary action works
- How to make a homemade barometer
- Programing and algorithm basics
- How to extrct DNA from fruit
All of these activities come with a video demonstration, video explanation, 14+ page worksheet pack, supply lists, and discussion questions. You can spend all week on each topic, or just go ahead and do the activity and call it done.
And best of all, you get access to all of the camp activities at once, so if you want to work a little faster, you have the option!
