A is for Alligator Letter Craft

One fun way to help solidify letter sounds and recognition is with alphabet crafts! Alphabet crafts are the perfect way to mix learning and craft time for little ones, and they are so much fun to make.

One of my favorite things to teach is reading. I love helping little ones learn to recognize letters and the sounds they make, which will eventually lead to reading. That light bulb moment when a letter transforms from a squiggly line into something a child can recognize as a sound is magical.

Starting with this A is for alligator letter craft, there is a whole new way to learn the alphabet!

What you’ll need to make the A is for Alligator alphabet craft:

Print the template onto regular computer paper, or directly onto green paper. Layer the template over several pieces of green paper so you can cut multiple letters out at once.

For each alligator, cut out two sets of two teeth, one ear, and a piece of yarn to be a bow. This can be a hair bow or a bow tie, depending on the child. Each child will also need one googly eye.

Turn the alligator on its side and follow the picture below for designing the alligator. Don’t forget to have each child sign the back of their alligator so they can tell which alligator belongs to who!

Glue the alligator to another piece of paper, or use it as-is!
