It’s up to your builder to decide!
Why Are There Special LEGO Bricks for Girls?
This question bugs a lot of people, but in the end, it probably comes down to money. LEGO can make more money if sisters and brothers have their own LEGO sets.
I’ve noticed that most of the “classic” LEGO sets are definitely marketed to boys (which is not something I am happy about), so it makes sense from a marketing prospective to have LEGO bricks for girls as well.
But, we don’t believe in girl things or boy things at STEAMsational, which is why most of the LEGO builds that we do here are made using classic LEGO bricks.
Even these LEGO hair clips aren’t just for girls.
Plenty of boys would love to put some fun LEGO pieces in their hair to show the world how much they love LEGO!
LEGO Hair Clips Directions
Place a small piece of foil or waxed paper between the clips of your barrette, this will keep it from being glued shut while you work.
Add a generous amount of hot glue to the back center of your LEGO pieces and then press it down firmly onto the long flat part your alligator clip, right up against the piece where you pinch it open.
Allow glue to cool so that it is hardened completely.
While you are waiting for tie a small piece of ribbon into a bow and trim to your desired length, repeat for the other barrette.
Glue bows at the end of the lego onto the barrette, allow it to cool.
You can leave your LEGO barrettes simple and as is or add a few small LEGO pieces, or even minifigures to add a little more pop of color.
You can make a dozen barrettes in different colors and have them ready for your LEGO Builder to wear at any time.
