A lot of parents are afraid of using Borax because it can be irritating on the skin and may have other health dangers as well.

We love our Borax slime, but for this slime recipe, we decided to try using something else as our sliming ingredient. Last October, we made slime using laundry starch, and that is what we used for this slime as well.

Slime forms when the glue and the starch mix and create a stretchy polymer bond. All slimes have polymer bonds that allow them to stretch rather than break like other types of chemical bonds.

How to Make Glitter Slime with Glitter Glue

easy glitter slime

Mix 1/2 a cup of water with 1/2 a cup of glue. It takes a while for glitter glue to mix with the water, but we found that using a fork helps mix it properly.

Pour 1/2 a cup of Liquid starch into a container. Add the glue to the starch and stir with a fork.

At first, the slime will be really sticky, but after a few minutes of stirring, it will loosen up and you will be able to handle it without it sticking everywhere.

We love liquid starch slime over other kinds of slime because it is stretchier than Borax slime and just more fun to play with!

After playing with the slime alone, Bo started to drop our foam hearts into it. They sunk into the slime, then she had a lot of fun fishing them out and hiding them again.
