Teaching the alphabet is so much fun. I love inspiring kids to learn and teaching them how to unlock all the secrets we keep inside written words. The amazement a child shows when they first realize they can read a word and recognize letters is one of my favorite things.
To inspire more learning and knowledge, I made a series of alphabet crafts that are perfect for preschoolers and kindergarten kids.
Today’s letter is Q, and this Q is for quail alphabet craft is so much fun to make and share with kids.
Don’t forget to download the letter templates that go along with the animal alphabet so you don’t have to hand draw your Q designs.

Cut out the letter Q onto brown paper. Cut two legs that are basically mini Ls from black construction paper. Cut out a wing and a head tuft (I don’t know the official name for this) from black paper as well. Cut out a black tail.
Cut an orange triangle for a beak.
Each child will need one googly eye, a Q, a wing, two legs, one beak, and one head tuft.
Show the kids how to put the quail together to transform their little Qs into adorable birds.
