When it comes to classroom decorations and classroom door decorations, fun themes can really help inspire students to learn and help get them excited about school (no matter what time of year it is).
This year, why not transform your classroom into a circus by implementing some of these circus theme classroom ideas!
Kids will have a blast with the cheery, colorful decor, and you’ll enjoy seeing it too!
And who knows, maybe you’ll finally win that classroom decorating contest.

How to Set Up a Circus Theme Classroom
When you are trying to make a circus classroom theme, it’s all about creating the illusion that you are teaching in a circus.
And the easiest way to do that is to think big, then go small.
First, create a DIY circus tent and put it in one corner of the classroom suspended from the ceiling.
You can also try suspending colorful tablecloths from the ceiling or walls to get major circus vibes.
The next thing to do is set the scene with your circus classroom door decorations and your circus bulletin board.
Use circus fonts and colors to create these anchor points.
From there, fill in with fun items from the list below and use the classroom designs of other teachers as inspiration for what you create in your classroom.
Sometimes people confuse circus classroom themes with carnival classroom themes, but I think they are totally different! A carnival classroom theme is all about food, rides and games. A circus is all about a show and fun tricks. Most carnivals also don’t have animals (although neither do modern circuses!).
Circus Circus Theme Classroom Ideas for Doors
Here are some of my favorite circus classroom door decorations. Super cute, super fun, and so circus!

I like how this classroom door is also used as a circus-themed display for class work.

Clowns and popcorn? What else could you want in a circus classroom door?

I love the vintage circus vibes of this classroom door.

Even though the circus doesn’t usually have animals any more, these circus animals are super cute and add to the fun vibe of this circus classroom.
