That’s where math sneaks in – exploring geometry, measuring angles, and understanding proportions. Who knew that creating a heartwarming card box could involve so much mathematical finesse?
Let’s talk about the science of stability. When you stack those bricks, you’re essentially delving into the science of balance and weight distribution. Ever tried adding a LEGO heart on top of an already towering structure? It’s a delicate dance of forces, my friends!
If you decide to incorporate motorized components or automated features using LEGO Technic elements, you’re stepping into the realm of technology. You’re not just building a static card box; you’re engineering a dynamic, moving creation.

Materials
- 1 8x8 Plate, any color
- 2 White 4x8 Plates
- 3 Red 1x2 Bricks
- 1 Red 1x4 Brick
- 1 Red 1x6 Brick
- 2 Red 1 x 8 Bricks
- 6 White 1x1 Bricks
- 12 White 1x2 Bricks
- 4 White 1 x 3 Bricks
- 11 White 1x4 Bricks
- 7 White 1x6 Bricks
- 2 Pink Slope 2x4 Bricks
Instructions
- Let’s get building! Start by forming the heart that will make the first side of the box. Place one red 1x8 brick on top of the other followed by a red 1x6 to the bottom of that. Then, the red 1x4 goes underneath that. Lastly, place 1 red 1x2 on the very bottom and the other two red 1x2’s on the top leaving two stud spaces between them.
Your LEGO heart should look like this! Tip: Remember to overlap most of your bricks by one to create a better structure.
- Setting the heart aside, it’s now time for the base. Begin by building the bottom layer around the border of the 8x8 plate, and leave the two center studs open on the side facing you.
- For the second layer leave the 4 center bricks on the side nearest you open. Then lay the third layer around all 4 sides, leaving all but the last stud on each side of the one facing you open.
- Now, press your heart shape into place in the opening.
- Make the final touches to your box and build the final layer all the way around.
- To complete our LEGO Valentines Card Box, create a lid for your box and place 2 white 4x8 plates across the top. Get creative and add a bow by placing the slope side of 2 pink 2x4 slope bricks facing one another in the center.
With one final touch, present the gift box recipient with the box and a LEGO separator to open it!
